Sorry working my way back is not my cup of tea, but I think this story should be interesting.
I did not start out running 2 years ago.
I actually began with run and walk or walk and run would be more appropriate. After work, I would head off to the oval and I would alternately walk for 5 minutes then run for 5 minutes until I had done so for 30 minutes. I did this every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. After 2 weeks, I would walk for 4 minutes then run for 6 minutes. Another 2 weeks, I walked 3 minutes and ran 7 minutes. I got a little adventurous after 1 week and walked 2 minutes and ran 8 minutes. After 2 months, I was ready to run 30 minutes non-stop. The thought of doing so scared and excited me at the same time. Anyway I can always slow down or take a walk break if it was too much. Of course, I was all mental and I was able to complete the 30 minutes.
I enjoyed watching people come from work or school walking, running, chatting with their friends, listening to music alone. All came with the same purpose (although maybe not the same intensity) of getting some exercise. After a while you become familiar with some faces. Some come and some go, but their energy inspires you to keep moving.
